Bryan Lee

Arts education exists to startle the mind into awakening itself. Behind the eyes, the internal terrors of youth often paint tyrannies we never see. My task is to transform these into creative self-expression. A collaborative journey where all experience the universal language of performance. In essence, I mentor through partnership to create practical experiences that present chances for self-transformation. More importantly, opportunities for the awakening of both wonder and lifelong curiosity.

To nurture 'I can' attitudes on the stage of infinite possibilities I focus on resilience. This extends beyond the ability just to cope but to recover, adapt, and thrive from outside tensions that inevitably intrude into the learning space. Accordingly, expressive communicators who thrive in mainstream education are my aim as an arts educator. Before teaching internationally serendipity intervened.

Three of my Music-Theatre compositions gained national awards. subsequently, were performed at both the National Theatre and, Queen Elizabeth Hall London. This experience taught me the potency of student ownership. Theory fused with real-world practices liberated the young performers to practically tell the untold, able to convey their own sense of magical meaning.
